Lore books and Pit Infinity

Hi all - we've been checking in here and in the comments and understandably there are questions about how the game is going. Initially we were infrequent in our updates, as we thought people didn't want to hear "Still working on getting the game produced, not much to report". Some said they'd actually be OK with that, so we start updating as such, but then others confirmed they didn't want updates without something interesting to cover. So, it's a bit of a damned if we do, damned if we don't situation, all the while trying to chew the challenge we bit off for ourselves. The solution? Well, we're going to try and talk you through how the process is going. Some specifics we'll be able to get into. Others will be about things that aren't actually contributing to the delay, but are worth noting as part of our N00b manufacturer status.

Most of you have been very patient. Or very impatient, but quiet. We appreciate it either way. And a few of you have been impatient and firm in the comments and we appreciate that as well. And some are mad - and we double appreciate that. This is not where we wanted to be either - a year ago we thought "how hard can it be?" about a number of things and we found out the hard way. But, it's also been really exciting working through it. The downside is knowing you are all waiting. So, we're going as fast as we can.

Someone in the comments suggested that maybe there were a few things we could do, some simple gestures of thanks - the main one being keys to our non-board games, particularly the one being worked on right now, Pit Infinity. (yes, we made a retro roguelike, which we then turned into a board game, and now we're following it up with the 3D FPS version of it - when we have a property we enjoy, we do like to expand upon it) Not everyone who backed us plays PC games, but the keys can be shared around and they were right, it is a simple gesture to say thanks and we appreciate everyone hanging tight. So we'll be sending those out in the next few days. We have something else we might be able to do as well.

And as best we can, we'll start going through people's questions about production and talking about them in the coming days. More soon.

Here's a picture of the Lore Books we're sending out that I forgot to post last update.

We will be shipping the Lore Books shortly - if you haven't updated your survey yet, we hope this update finds its way into your mailbox and you can take a moment to make sure we have your current mailing address.

Billy, don't you lose your number.

Nothing major to update - one thing I know some people are curious about is the current trade bickering between China and the US. So far, it hasn't lead to any problems, but our fulfillment partners are staying on top of it. For the moment, being as we are in Canada, it hasn't created any problems.

However, one thing we've run into on our other KS game, we really really really need phone numbers for European backers, in order to ship their games. We figure this is a good time to remind people that if you didn't provide a phone number (our bad - we made it optional in the surveys), please go update your survey. It will save some small hassle down the line.

Megalomaniacal Backers. One Left.
over 4 years ago – Mon, Aug 19, 2019 at 03:36:54 PM

Of all our backers who pledged the Megalomaniacal level, there's one we haven't been able to find. That we've gotten no email reply doesn't give us much hope they're getting the update emails either, but one last chance... then we'll have to try snail mail. This is future! We barely remember how to hold a pen!

Someone asked in messages and we figured we'll repeat it here - while there's currently no exciting news about the manufacturing of The Pit, whenever we get or see anything, such as test copies, we will absolutely share them here. Stay tune for those.

Shipping information and add-on pledges.

Nothing exciting to report on the manufacturing stage of The Pit, but we have received a few people contacting us with questions and concerns about their orders - the reward surveys we sent out are linked to their initial pledge, but for people who upgraded (pledging more money for additional copies, etc.), they wanted to confirm their order is understood. Yes, we have made notes on these up-sized orders and will double check them before we commit their orders to the fulfillment company. And if we make it that far and an error still occurs, we have prepared to address it from extra stock.

The Kickstarter system is a little confusing in these situations, so we understand a few of you are scratching your head, and it never hurts to double check.
